SUBTLE N’ SHARP: THE COOL DUDE’S SUMMER-FASHION PRIMER

It’s the time when the sun is a merciless ball of fire and you guys must be thinking “wish one could have been a polar bear!” Though the merciless glare of the sun makes you helpless, but the oppressive heat may be a reasonable good excuse for the most fashionable man to catch the eyes of girls! Summer’s in the city and its heat and dust time folks. The cool dude better get his act together or else the sweat and press might give him the rat-in-the-sauna look. This year the major brands like VanHeusen, Oxemberg, Levis’s and Allen Solly’s offer fresh summer pastel colours like pink, lilac, mint, aqua, beige, silver and grey for the guys. The focus is on fabric sheen, subtle textured fabrics and superfine structures. Bankers, the trend of white cuffs and collars on coloured shirts, remain the key trend this season. The trends in trousers include fine herring bone structures and fine linen trousers in superior micro stripes. The men’s formal-wear range this season reflects a suave presence, luxurious elegance and an impeccable finish.
Regular guys are finally catching on to what soccer players already know. Shorts are cool. It doesn’t matter if your legs look like twigs. Shorts add a modern breeziness to summer fashion and can make a humid subtropical climate a better place to live. The collections this summer include denims in premium wash and trendy Bermuda shorts and Cargos.
Finally, Desi- is back. Khakis is back with a bang. It’s the quintessential garb of an Indian politician. And with the world’s largest democracy going to the polls this month, this handspun cloth popularized by the Mahatma is again becoming the flavors of the season for all.
